Puddleducks Playgroup

Puddleducks is a community playgroup, (formally known as France Lynch Playgroup which was established in 1967), in various locations around the village.  We moved into our current premises in the former Chalford Ex-service men’s club in Haywards Lane in September 2013. We offer care and early education for children from the age of 2, through to school age. We are open Monday to Thursday 8.45-3.00 and Friday 8.45-1.30, with the option of morning or all day sessions, during school term times.

Our aim is to provide children with a safe and enjoyable play and learning experience to fully prepare them for starting school, in a safe and nurturing environment. Our provision consists of a bright and friendly large main hall, giving the children plenty of space to explore the very exciting activities available to them. We also have an additional pre-school classroom for more structured learning activities and a large all weather surfaced playground which is freely accessed by the children throughout the day. The care and education offered by Puddleducks Playgroup helps to provide all of the children with a wide range of activities that are appropriate for their age and stage of development.   We value the importance of play, and ensure that all our activities are meaningful, hands on and most importantly lots of fun!  We follow the principles of the Early Years Foundation stage.

To enable us to fully meet the needs of all children, the children are divided into two groups by age.  The Ducklings group cares for children aged 2-3 years.  The Ducks Group cares for the children who are rising 4 years and in their final pre-school year. We are staffed by a team of 6 highly experienced and talented fully qualified Nursery nurses.  We have an excellent staff retention rate with a combined total of over 40 years dedicated service!

As a community playgroup, Puddleducks has registered Charity status.  We are managed by a volunteer committee of parents, who work extremely hard to ensure that this valuable community facility continues to thrive and prosper.
