Designed by the Victorian, Thomas Keble, St John the Baptist church has been a central part of France Lynch and Chalford Hill village life for nearly 160 years. We aim to continue the long tradition that the village church is an active part of the community and not just about being in church on Sunday.
A vibrant and active Church Rooms and the significant circulation of The Herald are examples of our involvement with the community, while we also ensure the church is there for those who need it. No doubt also many households will have memories of family baptisms and weddings held in St John the Baptist.
Where there’s church there is always tea and cake! Chalfest is no different and the three hilltop churches (Chalford Baptist and Chalford Hill Methodist and St John the Baptist France Lynch) have joined together to participate in this wonderful event - so come and join us in the tea tent with some of the best homemade cakes the hillside and valley can offer.
